What started as a hobby has turned into a career. I am currently enrolled in a yearlong health coaching course from the Integrative Institute of Nutrition, and I will eventually be NBHWC board certified as a health coach.
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge of health and wellness and helping my clients become their best selves. I’m a great listener, non-judgmental and love working with all types of clients from executives (male and female) to young adults. Knowledge is power and I want all of my clients to walk away with a deeper understanding of how lifestyle choices affect their overall health. I strive to empower them with the tools that will make their weight loss and good health sustainable, and I consider proper nutrition to be like preventative medicine
As a former college athlete, (I played D1 Rugby at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia) I’ve always had a passion for working out, competing, and performing at a high level. I knew how to prepare my body from a physical and mental perspective, and I thought I understood how to properly fuel my body from a nutrition perspective. It wasn’t until after college that I discovered many of the things that I thought were helping my body were actually having a negative impact. If only I knew then what I know now.
For me, my interest in health and wellness started as a hobby. I researched workout routines, exchanged messages with like-minded friends, watched YouTube videos, listened to podcasts – always researching and seeking out information that would help me with my workouts. I eventually realized that the path to better workouts started with nutrition. The more information I took in, I also began to understand how proper nutrition can affect not only the body but also the mind. As someone who has struggled with ADHD, I knew that exercise helped me stay calm and focused. I now have a much greater appreciation for the role that nutrition can play in brain health and overall health and wellness.
.In my free time, I enjoy pushing myself both mentally and physically. I recently joined the GORUCK Community where I participate in monthly mental and physical challenges. I am an avid reader and podcast listener and enjoy learning as much as possible from nutrition experts including Kelly Leveque, Max Lugavere and Chris Kresser. I’m also a huge Arsenal soccer fan, enjoy waking up early to watch Formula 1, and I cheer for the Orioles.
My favorite quote is ” Empty your mind, be formless and shapeless like water.”
