How is EMP 180° different from other Weight Loss programs?
EMP 180° is the only program on the market that offers a truly comprehensive and science-based approach to weight loss and wellness. We don’t just focus on your short-term weight loss; we also focus on your long -term health. Here are some other ways that we differ from other programs:
People: All of our people are passionate about health and wellness and they’re passionate about you. We hire the best people — certified nutritionists, registered dietitians, health professionals, and certified health coaches — to work one on one with you to meet your goals. Our coaches provide the accountability and support that will guarantee your success.
Personalization: We personalize and customize all of our programs. Just as no two EMP180° clients are alike, no two EMP180° programs are the same. Your program is dependent upon your particular health history, body composition, lifestyle and individual needs.
Education: We teach you about the science of nutrition and how to use the right nutrients at the right times to fuel your weight loss and achieve your health goals.
Maintenance: Once you reach the goals we agreed upon during your initial consultation, we will provide you with a health coach for life at no additional cost.
How much does your program cost?
EMP 180° is tailored for each client, so it is difficult to determine your investment until we review your personal health summary as well as the results from the detailed body composition analysis. Once you come in for a consultation, we will be able to determine how long it will take you to reach your weight loss goals and we will provide you with the accurate cost for your specific program.
Will insurance cover the program?
Some of our clients have gotten a portion of their weight loss program covered. We will provide you with the appropriate insurance codes so that you can contact your insurance company. We do not submit paperwork to your insurance company on your behalf.
Why do I need to pay $30 for the consultation?
The consultation fee holds the appointment for you. You will also receive a printout of your body composition report. This report is highly informative as it provides you with a “screenshot” of your health. Additionally, you will spend valuable time with a very knowledgeable consultant who will provide you with a detailed interpretation of your body composition results. The consultant will then identify the appropriate and healthy range goals for your individual body composition. Many hospitals, gyms and recreation centers will charge over $100 for a body composition.
I have heard your program is expensive. Is that true?
The services we offer are more comparable to hiring a nutritionist or registered dietician. We work closely with each individual in the weight loss phase and even more closely during maintenance. We provide you with the nutrition education that will enable you to not only lose weight while on-program, but also keep your weight off long term. The investment you’re making in your health through EMP180° includes a coach for life. When you graduate from EMP180°, you will continue to meet with a coach at no additional investment. Your coach will help you maintain your weight loss and, more importantly, keep improving your body composition. We provide the support, guidance, meal planning and tools that will enable you to get healthy initially and stay healthy long term. Many of our clients have told us that their weekly food costs have actually gone down while they were on program because they dine out fewer times, spend less on alcohol and consume our food.
Why isn’t your pricing on your website?
EMP180° is not an off-the-shelf, one-size-fits-all program. We customize our service to you. While our pricing has predictable ranges, your individual investment depends on your goals, in combination with the needs we identify during your initial consultation and body composition analysis session. We personalize all of our programs to ensure that we are meeting your individual needs. Working with a nutrition professional means you get a personal plan. Our program is designed so that we spend time learning about your health history, lifestyle, needs and goals.
Do you include food with your program?
Accountability, support, weekly coaching and weekly body composition analysis are the most valuable parts of our program. While we do provide some food, we are not a food program. Our program includes a combination of your food and some nutrient rich EMP180° food. We are focused on your macro nutrient profile, i.e. carbs, proteins and fats, and making sure that you have the correct formula that will enable you to lose body fat and not muscle. We want to make sure that the program fits easily into your lifestyle. If you travel and enjoy eating out, we will make recommendations and assist with menu selections that will allow you to be compliant and continue to lose weight on our program. We can accommodate any food allergies and dietary restrictions.
Is my cost lower if I don’t consume your food?
While some food is part of the program, our biggest investment is in our people — the professionals who coach and guide you through the science of nutrition and the physiology of healthy weight attainment. We can develop custom programs if you have dietary restrictions or food sensitivities.
Do you have financing and monthly payment plans?
Financing is available. Many clients take advantage of Care Credit, a health care credit card, to finance their weight loss investment at 0% for 12 months (credit approval required).
Can I use my Flex Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)?
Yes! Funds from an FSA or HSA are a great option and can help cover the costs of your EMP180° program. In some cases, you may need approval from your insurance company to have the expense covered. In this case, a physician may have to prescribe weight loss as a treatment for obesity related diseases such as diabetes, for example. Please contact your provider for more details.
Can I write off my EMP180° investment as a medical expense on my taxes?
To be considered a medical expense, a physician must prescribe weight loss to treat a specific disease, such as diabetes, for example. You can deduct medical expenses if the weight-loss program equals more than 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. (Source) Please check with your tax advisor for more specific details.
Is your program keto?
Our formula for weight loss is based on macronutrients which differ for every individual. We recommend a balance of carbs, proteins and healthy fats that promote weight loss (from fat) and protect muscle. Our program allows for more protein than keto, and does not restrict carbs as much as a keto plan. We also encourage the consumption of lean sources of protein and healthy fats including olive oil and avocado oil. Once our clients reach healthy body fat percentages, we have an excellent transition program where we re-introduce healthy/complex carbs. When our clients transition, they also have the support of a health coach for life! A consistent support system for education and accountability is key to maintaining weight loss.
What is your philosophy regarding nutrition?
We believe in a balanced approach. We help you lose weight and reduce inflammation by providing you with the right balance of macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, healthy fats). Once you lose the weight, we gradually reintroduce healthy food options and provide you with a different set of macronutrients that will enable you to maintain your weight loss and continue to improve your body composition.
Can I work out on your program?
In the beginning and while your body is adjusting to a new, healthy way of eating, we may encourage you to scale back on your workouts. When your body adjusts, we will use the body composition to help you understand how to properly fuel your workouts. If you have not been working out, we will simply encourage you to start moving. A 30- minute walk is perfect.
I am over 60. Can you help me lose weight?
We work with people of all ages. While your weight loss may be slower, (depending on your body composition and other health factors) than some of our younger clients, we can still help you lose weight, potentially reduce your medications and improve your overall health.
I have a daughter who needs to lose weight. Do you offer a program for teens?
We work with people of all ages including teens (16 and over) and college students. Because we personalize all of our programs, we are able to help teens lose weight and also provide them with a nutrition education that will last a lifetime.
I am a post-menopausal female and I can’t seem to lose weight. Can you help?
Women often think weight loss is impossible after menopause. While metabolism may slow down a bit, it doesn’t have to come to a halt. By personalizing all of our programs, we are able to ensure that women in all stages of their lives are successful at losing weight.
I am an athlete and only need to lose 10 pounds. Can you help?
Our program is not only about weight loss; we also help you improve your body composition through education and proper nutritional guidance. We help you understand what your body needs in order to achieve optimal performance. Several of our nutrition experts also have extensive backgrounds in personal training and endurance training.
I travel a lot. Can I still do your program?
Your lifestyle is not unlike a lot of our clients; you lead a busy life. Because we customize all of our programs to meet your individual needs, we will work with you to make certain that our program is flexible enough for you to make progress while you travel.
